Burnette will continue to serve on Suwanee City Council

Jimmy Burnette, the incumbent, won reelection for the City Council post in Suwanee’s municipal election.

Preliminary numbers show Burnette won with 871 votes.

“I’m just glad it’s over with,” said Burnette. “It was a good race. I learned a lot and I appreciate everybody’s support. We have a lot of work to do.”

Burnette defeated Rick Welsch, who received 518 votes.

We worked hard, we did well,” said Welsch. “I’m pleased with the results.”
Jeannine Rispin who ran unopposed received 1,115 votes.

“Thank you to everyone,” Rispin said. “You just do not know how important you are and how important your power to vote is. It is because of people like you that the next 10 years going forward are going to be the best years yet. We have our challenges but we are on a roll, and it’s only going to get better.”
